Isaac: It’s an amazing time to be a DIY artist/performer/band/musician. What do you feel you contribute musically to the Indie Music Culture?
Shimon: It is great that we have more exposure opportunities, new music and wonderful talent to discover. Music is my life and my way of living, my personality and culture. I always put the art of music ahead of everything.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to sign with a major label, would you sign now knowing you may have to give up some of what you have build up over the years about you in the process?
Shimon: I think all of us Indie musicians enjoy the freedom of making our own artistic decisions. The advantage of being signed with major label will be bigger budget and day to day dealing with promotion/booking etc’. The love of music keeps me going and making living off of it is a blessing.
Isaac: I remembered Simon Cowell from American Idol talking about the “it” Factor that makes a musician/band stand out. What do you think is your “it” factor that makes you stand out from others in the music business?
Shimon: I have to say that the music talks for itself. I feel that the Group and I work hard on our music and it is well accepted and respected by our fans.
Isaac: Name one element that will make you stand out from the rest of the musicians/artists in the music industry?
Shimon: I would say versatility, as my music naturally integrates different cultures, some of it from my birthplace - Israel, and other from the musicians I pick to perform with.
Isaac: Do you feel you have given it your best when pursuing your musical dreams so far? Why or why not?
Shimon: I think yes, as I’m still here making music. I love the process of composing, arranging recording, and performing music, My group started more then a decade ago and we still here unlike others.

Isaac: Who do you look up to for your own influences and why?
Shimon: I am attracted to sound, sound of voice, and the voice that certain artists have on their instrument. The list is long, from progressive rock to jazz to classic music.
Isaac: Do you feel that Indie music gets the respect it deserves? Why or why not?
Shimon: I think so. I see that people are open to discover new music and buying it too.
Isaac: If you could change one thing about the music business, what would it be and why?
Shimon: That is a tricky question. Being an Indie musician is great but the lock-of filtering in it is felt by finding on the same shelf; great artists who dedicate their life to music, among people who’s taking advantage of it that are no so polished.
Isaac: What has been one of your biggest setbacks and how did you overcome it? What lesson did you learn about yourself?
Shimon: Life is like a roller-costar, you fall you rise and hopefully become smarter from these experiences. I can’t pinpoint any special event but I hope I did learn from my mistakes as well as my success.
Isaac: What type of feedbacks have you been receiving about your music from fans and music critics?
Shimon: My music has gotten a lot of good criticism in the press, which helps moving forward knowing that you doing something right. But the best feedbacks are those who comes from fans that come to see us playing, few small word such as “sounds great” does it.
Isaac: If you knew that you would never gain fame and fortune with what you are doing now, would you continue to make music? Explain.
Shimon: I will restate one of my previous answers: I always put the art ahead of everything.
Isaac: How do you handle negative feedback or negative energy about your music?
Shimon: I understand that music is an art that won’t appeal to everyone, some like to listen to, some like to dance to it, and some like to have it in the background.
Isaac: What role do your family and friends play in the equation of your pursuant of a music career?
Shimon: I can’t say enough but a real big thank you to all my friends and family for keeping up with me
