(Houston, TX) Keeping things ablaze since the August release of his mixtape, “Respect Me,” rising rap star Young Marqus (YM) is joining hip hop paragon Lupe Fiasco on a cross country lightening bolt, aptly titled The Generation Lasers Tour. YM is slated to open the show for Fiasco in 18 cities of this multi-leg US tour. Lift off takes place on September 12, at Boston’s famed “House of Blues.”  Tour dates available below.

At only 11 years old, YM’s presence on The Generation Lasers Tour marks a pivotal turning point in the young wordsmiths career by illustrating the draw of his music, the strength of his audience, and the impact he’s already had on the music industry thus far.

John A Causey III of Smart Boy Entertainment describes Young Marqus as “the new evolution in Hip-Hop, bringing with him a refreshing sense of political and social consciousness, lyrical genius, and prescient metaphors that will put a stamp on music lovers the world over.” Waxing politics through unrestricted hooks and delivering heat through lengthy bars of witticism and class; to hear Young Marqus spit life’s unclassified reality, is to finally understand that age doesn’t blind you from the truth. Bridging this talent with Lupe Fiasco, and other opening acts like Wale, Tinie Tempah, Big Sean and Miguel, who’ve also signed on to The Generation Lasers Tour, makes YM the perfect addition to a matchbox of incendiary talent sure to deliver an explosive show.

“Being on this tour makes me think that a kid can accomplish anything, especially when they have the proper knowledge on how to make their dreams come true,” Young Marqus states, “Being able to say that I’m doing the same things that Lupe is doing; going on tour with him, and having people recognize that I’m a kid, but not treat me like one, feels great.  I’m doing a lot of things that other kids never thought they could do and I’m truly blessed for the opportunity to share my journey and my music with the world.”
