Junior’s Cave Music Now is proud to present this newest review of the extremely talented and wonderful artist, J. K. Hodge. A couple of years ago we interviewed (http://www.juniorscave.com/J-K-Hodge.html) this artist about his music and instantly became a lifetime fan. With the release of his latest album titled Anatomy Of A Piano Player back in September 2010, I am happy to finally give this album the review it deserves.
Have you ever heard the phrase, “Sexy music for grown ups”? Well, this is what I am stating with the music from this brilliantly constructed and crafted CD. The album is full of Hodge’s masterful and skillful piano playing that will have music lovers coming back for more. One of the best parts to this album is how Hodge is able to incorporate the essence of classical music with a contemporary twist. This is also Hodge’s mojo that I see throughout this album and his music. When listening to his music, Hodge has a way of making one escape into his magical world for hours end.
If you want to dive into an album that let’s you escape into a wondrous musical journey, then Anatomy Of A Piano Player is the CD that fits the bill. Let me also say that Anatomy Of A Piano Player also shows the excitement and magic of piano playing that Hodge gracefully displays in this top-notch CD. The final verdict that I conclude about this album is that it is a masterpiece that highlights the enormous talents of J. K. Hodge.

This review hits the nail right on the head... Anatomy of a Piano Player is a great album... a "leave it on repeat" album. Each song paints its own individual picture; they each have their own story to tell, and they tell it well. An excellent album by an insanely talented musician. I am one of the lucky people who own this album and listen to it constantly. Waiting (not so) patiently for the next album, which I'm sure will be just as amazing, if not better, than this one. Personal favorite song (if I had to pick just one!) is Sitting on Your Steps. A sweet piece, with overtones of hopefulness, and a gossamer thread of sadness. Beautifully done!

Loved it always J. You are a very talented musician, never giving less than 150%. What a wonderful addition to all the beautiful music you have created through the years. I can't wait for the next album!
