Rock Fans are going to dig the sounds of The Unsatisfied especially when they hear tracks such as White Trash and 44 Caliber. A band that is not afraid to rock hard The Unsatisfied will blow music fans away with their hard edgy lyrics, electrifying guitar, powerful vocals, and raw energy. Our Webzine recently spent some time with the band in this special interview. Enjoy!

Isaac:What has been the best part of 2009 for you musically so far?

Wayno: We just finished recording demo tracks for our new record and everything came out incredibly well.

Eric:Mike Pack from Sound Revolution studios has been doing a great job.  We're really excited about it; I'd say that's our high point so far.

Doug:  Yeah, we've finally got complete control.

Isaac: What do you feel has been the biggest accomplishment for 2009 so far?

Eric:  We finally got our last album "The Way 2 the Crumbs"mastered.  It came out in '06 but our label at the time decided to go ahead and release the un-mastered mix of it.

That's one thing we've learned can really make a difference.

Wayno:  I think our biggest accomplishment has been a site that we started doing business  with called www.numberonemusic.com/theunsatisfied. We've been getting fans from all over the world and all 50 states.

Doug: We've been getting a lot of good Internet exposure here lately.  All of our work is paying off.

Isaac: Describe the music scene in your area.

Doug: Very eclectic.  There's everything from gutterpunk to bluegrass. There are a couple of good venues in Chattanooga, but we could use one or two more.

Eric: Yeah, some of the good sized and nicer venues in town only want to book cover bands or tribute bands.  Shit, y'know?

Wayno: Chattanooga's kind of a big town with a small town identity.  Not too many high profile bands tend to play here.  But the underground punk scene is picking back up.  We've brought a few good acts in over the years, and done shows here with The Misfits and Murphy's Law, Texas Terri and a few others, always to a mixed reaction.

Isaac: What has been the best venue to perform at and why?

Eric:  It'd have to be CBGB's in NYC back in '93 or The Masquerade in Atlanta last year.

We've played a bunch of shows in 22 years, but those places are legendary, and they treat you like you’re somebody.

Doug:Here in town our favorite place is JJ's Bohemia. That place is on its way to becoming legendary itself.

Wayno:The Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge, LA. treated us really well back in '03-'04,when we were touring with The Impotent Sea Snakes.

Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?

Eric: The Unsatisfied itself is influenced by a lot of different things. Each member brings their own influences to the table.

Doug:I'm influenced by everything from Woody Guthrie to Greek History.

Wayno: We have all grown up differently, from different eras and influences. Our other guitar player Johnny Stockman comes from 70's hardrock/classic rock, and myself, I was influenced by a lot of the Hard Rock, and Alternative from the 80's, and I discovered Punk at a young age, and it changed the way I look at music, and guitar playing. Our new bassist Marshall Rowe, was raised by us,(laughs) but he is influenced by a lot of Punk Rock, as well as some of the newer bands from the past 10 years or so..

Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?

Eric: A sense of urgency. The music industry may begin to see us as a threat.Right now we have complete control over every decision that affects our careers, and things are starting to happen in a very big way.

Wayno: We really believe in what we do, and there's no one that sounds like The Unsatisfied. We just write what we feel at that given time, and try to share our thoughts and feelings as honestly as possible through Rock and Roll. Some people "get it” and some don't. It's therapy to us, you know? We could be having a real crappy day, but playing music always make us feel better, it takes the pain away.

Doug: We've been playing in bands for most of our lives.  Eric's been rocking The Unsatisfied for twenty two years!  Johnny's been in the group for19, Wayno's been with it since 2000.  I've been back in the band for three years now after being the original drummer back in '87.  I don't know that we want to bring anything to the industry...

We do this out of a love for it, a need to do it.  This isn't bullshit. And when we're playing and people are digging it or when we're just hearing feedback from fans...when people "get" what we do, it’s golden.  It's almost religious...What music industry???

Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?

Eric: David Bowie because he's a genius.

Wayno:Rick Rubin because he's dynamic.

Doug: Joe Strummer, R.I.P.. because I love him.

Wayno: Me too. (sniffle).

Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?

Group: (Moans)!

Wayno: Unsatisfyingly satisfying.

Eric:Apocalyptic punk jazz.

Doung; It’s indescribable.  It's God and the Devil meets metal-southern-punk-glam.

Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from fans about your music?

Doug:  All good, that's why there our fans.

Wayno:All the support we've gotten from new fans in the past few years has been nothing but positive.

Eric: Our tribe keeps getting bigger.

Isaac: Where can fans locate you at online?

Isaac: What can fans expect from you in the next five years?

Eric: We are going to release a new album this fall, called "Songs the Belt Taught Us".  After hearing the demos that we just finished, we're convinced that it's going to explode.

Doug:I second that.  This record is going to be unreal when it's done.

Wayno:Hopefully, to get a chance to see us perform in their town, region, or country.

Then they can judge for themselves what to expect!

Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…

Doug:Elliott, Dylan, John, Jeni, and Mikey.

Eric:Lysa, Desi, Moui, to The Tribe, you know who you are, and all the bands that played with us in this past year.

Wayno:Mika Rae, Zoe-Blue, my aunt Melba, who passed away recently (RIP), the rest of my family, all the old, and new fans that keep supporting us. You Rock!

Anda shout out to our other members who couldn't be here for this interview, Johnny, and Marshall.

Isaac: Final words…

Group:  Luv-N-Blood,  See Ya Soon .

I think this interview celebrates everything The Unsatisfied has been doing. The new album (as I have had the extreme pleasure to review!), is my favorite of all the twenty years I have known them. Rock on, rock Gods! I love you- each and every one of you!
